OCCE Awards Announcement—Call For Applications

To the Campus Community:
The Nexus Center Office of Community and Civic Engagement (OCCE) is now accepting
applications for the following Institutional Awards.
2025-2026 Newman Civic Fellowship
Applications are due by March 3, 2025.
The Newman Civic Fellowship is a yearlong fellowship that supports and recognizes
a student who embodies a sustained commitment to civic and community engagement.
2025 Community Service Awards
Applications are due by March 3, 2025.
The Community Service Awards recognize students, faculty, staff, and groups that demonstrate
a commitment to community service. The recognition event will take place on April
22, 2025 during the Day of Service.
2025 Future Funding Grant
Applications are due by March 3, 2025.
The Community Engagement Grant awards a monetary grant to faculty, staff and/or a department to
be used for a future community service project/initiative in summer 2025-spring 2026.
2025 FSC Day of Service
On April 22, 2025, the OCCE, in partnership with the Food Pantry, will host the annual
Day of Service during National Volunteer Month, focusing on the United Nations Sustainable
Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger. This year’s event will spotlight both local and global
challenges of food insecurity and mobilize the Farmingdale State College community
to take action against hunger.
