Sent on Behalf of the FSC UUP Office
SUNY students are invited to apply for the Steve Street Award, an annual scholarship
offered by United University Professions (UUP), the union that represents academic
and professional employees at the State University of New York.
The scholarship application deadline for the Steve Street Award is May 1. The application
for the award can be found on the UUP Awards webpage.
The Steve Street Award is a one-time $500 scholarship given to an undergraduate student
or group of undergraduate students enrolled at a SUNY campus who has/have created
any paper or documented any project related to social justice issues or topics. This
scholarship is available to full-time and part-time students.
The award is named for Street, a UUP contingent faculty member who taught at SUNY
Brockport and SUNY Buffalo State College; he died of cancer in 2012.
The scholarship is funded by contributions from UUP members and their families. For
more information, contact UUP’s administrative office at (800) 342-4206.
