Heartfelt Thanks from Ram-bo

Happy Friday, Rams!

I received an email from SUNY late yesterday, letting me know that after a long, hard-fought battle, Ellsworth the Eagle has won SUNY’s annual Mascot Madness competition. It was a very close race, and although we won the popular vote, we were out-voted in the SUNY bonus voting on social media.

I cannot begin to express the gratitude I feel, seeing the entire FSC community come together to support me. Thank you to everyone who voted, and shared our success throughout the competition. Your support means more than a simple vote. It is an example of what can happen when we all come together. I hope you feel the FSC spirit because I certainly do!

Regardless of the loss, I’m excited to share that the anonymous gift of $10,000 to the Student Emergency Fund will still take place, to celebrate our valiant effort and for making it to the finals for the first time ever.

A big shout-out to the many departments across campus who helped vote and spread the word. Several local businesses joined the fun too! Your support and dedication, for me and for FSC, are unwavering.

I am so proud to represent such a spirited institution. We’ll be back next year, Rams!
