Celebrating Pride Month
As we recognize Pride Month, we honor the history, resilience, achievements, and contributions
of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. Pride is both a celebration and a reminder
of the ongoing pursuit of equity, dignity, belonging, and opportunity for all. Our
campus is strengthened by the diversity of experiences, perspectives, and identities
that make up our community. During Pride Month, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering
an environment where every student, faculty member, staff member, and visitor feels
welcomed, valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.
Pride invites us to reflect on the importance of inclusion, allyship, and mutual respect.
It is an opportunity to celebrate authenticity, recognize the progress that has been
made, and continue working together to create a campus culture where everyone can
bring their full selves to learning, teaching, working, and community life. Throughout
this month, we encourage members of our campus community to engage in opportunities
for learning, dialogue, celebration, and reflection. By embracing our differences
and recognizing our shared humanity, we build a stronger, more vibrant, and more compassionate
community.
