2026 Commencement Ceremony—Call for Staff Volunteers
To FSC Staff:
Farmingdale State College’s Commencement Ceremony is a milestone event that celebrates
our graduates while bringing the campus community together, and we need your help
to make it a success. Commencement will take place on Friday, May 22, at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and conclude by 1 p.m. Staff volunteers
are expected to arrive between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., depending on your assigned role.
Volunteer Roles
Choose from three roles where you can truly make a difference:
- Marshal
Assist with pre-seating and guiding students on stage to have their names called.
(Academic regalia is required.)
- Section Leader
Lead student and staff volunteers in designated sections. (Academic regalia not required.)
- General Staff Support
Assist in various sections as needed to ensure the ceremony runs smoothly. (Academic
regalia not required.)
Ensure your participation in this meaningful experience by completing this brief Staff Volunteer Response Form. The deadline to respond is Friday, March 27, 2026. Once your registration is confirmed, we’ll send details to your Farmingdale email
address.
Important Dates & Time Commitment
- Volunteer Orientation: One-hour meeting toward the end of April.
- Mandatory Walkthrough: Late May at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Marshals and Section Leaders may be
asked to attend an additional meeting.
- Commencement Day-Friday, May 22: Arrival between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., program ends by 1 p.m.
Before registering as a volunteer, please confirm with your supervisor that you will
