Reminder: Call for Nominations—2027 Honorary Doctorate Degree

Dear Colleagues:

With the excitement of commencement behind us, it is an ideal time to reflect on an inspirational leader to address next year’s graduates, the class of 2027, as an honorary doctorate degree recipient.

Honorary doctorate degrees are awarded to recognize excellence in the fields of established SUNY degrees as well as in business, philanthropy, public affairs, and public service which exemplify SUNY's mission. Nominees should be both relevant and appropriate to FSC and have a connection with SUNY as a whole.

Please keep in mind that current SUNY faculty and administrative staff, individuals who have already received a SUNY honorary degree, and current holders or candidates of New York elective public office are not eligible for an honorary degree.

We are requesting nominations be submitted by June 15, 2026 via this form. This ensures enough time for the committee to review, make recommendations to the president, and ultimately to SUNY, within the timeline and procedures outlined by SUNY.
