Creating the next generation of community leaders.
The Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) of the Nexus Center for Applied Learning and Career Development aims to foster and develop the next generation of community leaders. Because students learn best at the intersection of the university and community perspective, the Institute offers a variety of programs that promote student community involvement and academic service learning. Our opportunities for civic engagement with social justice minded partners inspire students to increase their community involvement and maintain a lifelong commitment to social equity and advocacy.
