Keen Research Fellowship in Bioscience

Former President of Farmingdale Dr. Hubert Keen with his wife Sally Keen have generously funded a research fellowship to support a student majoring in Bioscience, to conduct a research project (separate from required coursework) in collaboration with a Farmingdale faculty member.
Eligibility
Eligible students must:
- Be an Undergraduate full-time student majoring in Bioscience
- Have completed one full year (fall/spring) of study at Farmingdale State College.
- Demonstrated academic achievement, with a minimum college GPA of 3.0
- Have secured a faculty member advisor and have a defined research project planned
An award of $4,000 is to be granted in the summer of 2025 to the selected student (note that a fall 2025 research project may be considered, but summer is preferred). Funding will be awarded in two parts. Half upon the start of the summer and the other half at the conclusion of the summer with demonstrated progress shown in the research efforts, if not complete, and faculty acknowledgement of the effort. The selected student will also be required to virtually meet with the Keen family to thank them and briefly present on their research after the experience is completed.
