Oversees full lifecycle of the FSC student experience from application to commencement.
John S. Nader, president of Farmingdale State College, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sunil Samuel to the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Engagement. Samuel will oversee the full lifecycle of the FSC student experience from application to commencement. In this role, he will oversee ten departments to bolster student engagement, enrollment, retention, and degree completion.
The Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Engagement will play an essential role in creating a sense of belonging and community, while engaging a highly diverse student body of 10,000 students composed primarily of commuter students.
“Sunil Samuel will bring new thinking to a newly created position,” said President Nader. “He is a widely-recognized leader in the enrollment field and brings a wealth of experience and energy that will help us further engage students.”

A highly regarded industry leader, with a proven track record in growing enrollment and skillfully navigating the changing landscape and demographic shifts of today’s College student body, Samuel prides himself on making decisions based on data driven logic and research. Samuel, a Huntington native, worked for almost 20 years at Hofstra University, most recently as their Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management. He is involved in many different professional organizations including the National Association of College Admission Counselors (NACAC), General Assembly for Admissions and Guidance, New York State Association of College Admissions Counselors (NYSACAC), and many others.
Samuel earned a BA in Chemistry and a Master of Business Administration from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. He resides with his wife, daughter, and son in Huntington.
