Farmingdale State College has been ranked the #1 public college in New York State, in a survey of most desired schools of the last decade, says LendEDU.
LendEDU measured the percent change in the number of applicants from 2008-09 to 2018-19, when the College saw a 61.53% change in the number of applicants. From more than 1,200 colleges tracked, FSC ranks #151 nationally and #9 in New York State. It is also at the top of the list of SUNY schools.
"This is a truly remarkable national recognition. It's especially impressive to note that Farmingdale is the highest-ranked public college on the list of 116 public and private colleges in New York," says FSC President John S. Nader.
"As we head into the new decade, prospective students want to go to schools that are trending upwards, and Farmingdale State College is on the right track based off its desirability statistics from the last decade," says Michael Brown, Research Analyst at LendEDU.
The data comes from the National Center for Education Statistics' Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System. A college had to have a minimum of 500 applicants from both the 2008-09 and 2018-19 academic years to be considered for the analysis.
