Marvin Fischer, of Medford, has been elected President of the Chiefs of Police Association of Suffolk County. A member of the association for the past 15 years, he will begin his term in 2015. He currently represents the association as the Zone Representative to the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police.
Fischer is Chief of Police at Farmingdale State College, where he has held the position since 1998. He has served on the campus police force for 37 years. He holds a degree in criminal justice/police science from Farmingdale and served as president of the FSC Alumni Association.
Fischer is also a member of the Nassau County Municipal Police Chiefs Association, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the American Society of Industrial Security. He is a previous president, and currently Policy Chair, of the State University Police Chiefs Association.
