The Color Orange and Containers Highlight Art Exhibit

Collocation, Collaboration & Containers” is a new exhibit featuring works by members of Farmingdale State College’s visual communications department.  The exhibit, on display weekdays from April 7 through April 25, is being shown at the Memorial Gallery in Hale Hall, daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Admission is free.

An artists’ reception will be held at the gallery on Tuesday, April 8, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The exhibit features a range of styles and media, from traditional painting, photography and illustration to digital media and film.  The criteria for each piece are that it features the color orange and is created in a container 12.5 inches by 12.5 inches by 4 inches.  Students in the visual communications department were recruited to mount the pieces.

“I gave our artists a project, and the pieces turned out quite unique,” said Phil Simone, director of the gallery and associate professor of visual communications.  “You can see each artist’s personality in each work.”
