Applications now being accepted for fall 2011 semester. Farmingdale State College is pleased to announce the addition of a new Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Telecommunications Technology beginning this fall 2011 semester. With this addition, Farmingdale now offers 37 four-year degree programs.

1,000 Students to Receive Diplomas. Farmingdale, N.Y.--On Sunday, May 15, beginning at 10 am, Farmingdale State College will celebrate its 92nd commencement with Dr. Bruce Stillman, president of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Stillman's award-winning research focuses DNA replication duplication in cells, which is a process that ensures accurate inheritance of genetic material through generations.

1/27/2012 Opening Of New Sustainable Garden At Farmingdale State College
Event to coincide to campus Open House for prospective students. The community is invited to the unveiling of a new garden at Farmingdale State College featuring sustainable growing methods on Saturday, April 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Sustainable Garden will serve as an outdoor classroom for students in the college's ornamental horticulture program. Admission is free and the public is welcome.

To fulfill that workforce need, Farmingdale State College has received approval to offer a bachelor's degree in Sport Management and is admitting students for the Fall 2011 semester.

Farmingdale State's Director of Small Business Development Center To Be Honored. Farmingdale State College is pleased to announce that Lucille Wesnofske, director of the small business development center, has been selected as one of Long Island's Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business. The award is given to professional women in the region who have made significant contributions through their business acumen, mentoring and community involvement. She received this award in May 2007 and again in 2008. As a third time honoree, Ms. Wesnofske will become a member of the Hall of Fame.

Mark Ellis Memorial Run/Walk for outstanding alumni. Eileen P. Magri, director of nursing for Maternal Child Health at Winthrop University Hospital, will be honored as Alumna of the Year at the College's Alumni Awards Dinner at 6 pm on Friday, March 25 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
03/10/2011 Farmingdale State College Spring 2011 Open House
Thousands of students and their families are expected to attend. Open House provides an exceptional opportunity to meet professors and counselors and to see the campus via a student-led campus tour of the 380-acre campus (please allow an hour) including residence halls. Farmingdale has been named as the 5th safest campus in the nation, based on a statistical analysis conducted by the online publication The Daily Beast. Shuttles to the Aviation Center at Republic Airport will be offered and two new Piper Warrior planes will be on display.

James Halsall, an Applied Mathematics major at Farmingdale State College, gave a talk entitled Analysis of Spherical Inflation Models for Intracranial Saccular Aneurysm Elastodynamics at the annual national American Mathematical Society - Mathematical Association of America Joint Meetings in New Orleans on January 6, 2011.
