Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society Celebrates Induction Ceremony

Business Management and Computer Systems students gathered with their families, friends and professors in Farmingdale State College's Little Theater for the Sigma Beta Delta Induction Ceremony on March 13, 2009. Sigma Beta Delta is an international honor society recognizing and promoting achievement in business, management and administration.

Master of Ceremonies and the president of the Sigma Beta Delta Chapter Professor Dominick Siani oversaw the event at which eighty-one students were inducted. Provost Beverly Kahn and President Hubert Keen welcomed students and their families. The Honorable Dr. Wayne R. Horsley, Suffolk County Legislator - Fourteenth Legislative District, addressed the inductees and student president Kathryn Motschmann welcomed the new members.

Professor Albert Rosen, an adjunct professor in the Business Management Department, was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta Society as the 2009 honorary member. The ceremony closed with remarks from Professor Dominick Siani.

Sigma Beta Delta is Farmingdale State College's first four-year honor society. The Farmingdale State College chapter received its charter in 1999. To be eligible, junior or senior students must earn a grade point average in the top 20 percent in either the Business Management or in Computer Systems bachelor degrees.
