Kerry Lutz Joins Farmingdale State

Biology Department Welcomes New Assistant Professor

Dr. Kerry Lutz
Dr. Kerry Lutz has joined the College as an assistant professor in the biology department. Dr. Lutz's research is in molecular genetics.

Lutz's vast expertise includes a post-doctoral, interdisciplinary research workforce fellowship with the National Institutes of Health. A resident of North Merrick, Lutz received her PhD in plant biology from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, in July 2007. She holds an MA in biological sciences from Binghamton University, and a BA in biology from Rutgers.

Farmingdale State's biology department is part of the School of Arts and Sciences, which enrolls nearly 2,500 students. The department offers a baccalaureate program in bioscience designed to produce versatile graduates who are prepared for a wide range of positions in this rapidly developing field. The department also offers courses that fulfill the general education natural science core requirement
