Professor Thomas J. Grech Joins Farmingdale State

Business Management Department Welcomes New Assistant Professor

Thomas J. Grech has received an appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Management at Farmingdale State College. Professor Grech has extensive executive experience in sales and operations in the fields of document outsourcing, printing, publishing, and marketing. This fall, he taught courses in Management Theories and Practice, Small Business Management, and Entrepreneurship.
Grech has over two decades of corporate experience. His most recent position was with Virtual Document Solutions, where he was Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Operation at Xlibris, a print-on-demand publishing company based in Philadelphia, PA. Grech also held VP and Director-level positions in Sales, Customer Service and Operations at Merrill Corporation, a provider of customized marketing and communications solutions. He began his career at the printing company RR Donnelley.

Professor Grech is an active member of his community of Malverne, serving as Library Trustee for the Malverne Public Library as well as President of the Malverne Civic Association. Since 1995, he has volunteered for the New York City Board of Education's "Principal for a Day" program. He is a Founding Board Member of the national public charity Foundation for Grieving Children, and the former Co-Chairman of the Advisory Board of Directors for the City AS High School program (New York, NY). He is also a member of the National Eagle Scout Association and the Elks Lodge of Lynbrook.

Professor Grech received a Master in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business at Manhattan College in 1993. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Scranton where he currently serves on the Alumni Society Board of Governors as Secretary.
