School of Engineering Technologies Hosts Manufacturing Conference
Manufacturing industry leaders to gather at Farmingdale State College
Leaders from the manufacturing industry across Long Island will meet at Farmingdale State College on Friday, March 28 to discuss the status of the manufacturing industry in the region, local industry needs, and advances in technologies in the manufacturing sector.The conference, organized by the Manufacturing Engineering Technology department at Farmingdale State , will take place from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM in the T101 conference room in Lupton Hall's Institute for Research Technology Transfer (IRTT). Speakers will give an overview of the College's Manufacturing Engineering Technology degrees, applied research being conducted at the IRTT, and how industry can enhance academic manufacturing programs to meet current and future industry needs.
Among the speakers are Ken Morrelly of LIFT, Natalie Lowell of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), alumnus Vincent Marzigliano of VM Manufacturing, Professor Serdar Elgun , chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Dr. Hazem Tawfik , Director of the IRTT.
