"Bang, Bang You're  Dead" At Farmingdale State College

A play about school violence and the Thurston High School shooting

The Back Stage Theater Co. of Farmingdale State College proudly presents "Bang, Bang You're Dead" in the Roosevelt Hall Little Theater on December 4, 5, 6, and 13, 2008 at 7:00pm and on December 9, 2008 at 11:00am. In keeping with the playwright's wishes, there is no admission fee."Bang, Bang You're Dead" is written by award-winning playwright William Mastrosimone in response to an actual incident that occurred on May 21, 1999. On that fateful day, a high school student opened fire in the cafeteria at Thurston High School in Springfield , Oregon , killing two students and wounding 23. Sadly, in the nine years since this incident, the country has witnessed too many other tragedies of kids killing kids.

The play is a cautionary tale about school violence and opportunities lost. Its message is clear: violence is never the answer. This is a must see show for our young people of junior high and high school age.

It features Noman Ahmad of Northport, Jared Baglietto of Lynbrook, Dominique Dinapoli of Farmingdale, Katie Kennedy of East Islip and Susie Novak of Medford . It is directed by Nick Attanasio of Holbrook .
