Farmingdale SBDC Director Honored by Execuleader
Lucille Wesnofske Dr. W. Hubert Keen, president of Farmingdale State College, is proud to announce that Ms. Lucille Wesnofske, director of the Small Business Development Center at Farmingdale, will receive a "Champion of Small Business" award from ExecuLeaders at the Second Annual ExecuLeadership Awards Breakfast Gala on Friday, March 1.
Lucille Wesnofske has over 20 years experience in small business consulting. She has been the director of the New York State Small Business Development Center at Farmingdale since September 2001 and has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs realize the dream of becoming a business owner. She specializes in and is most committed to assisting women-owned enterprises and is known statewide for her business expertise in the child care industry.
A resident of Shirley, Ms. Wesnofske was the first business advisor in New York State to achieve advanced certification from the New York State Small Business Development Center . In 1997, she received the "Star Performer Award" for the National Association of Small Business Development Centers. In 1999, she was recognized by the Town of Brookhaven as Woman of the Year in Government.
An alumna of Farmingdale State College, Lucille has served as president of the Alumni Association. Following graduation from FSC, she earned her B.A. in Liberal Arts and a Masters degree in Public Policy from Stony Brook University.
Additionally, she is so highly regarded on campus that, in 2006, she received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service. The Chancellor's Award is awarded only to those candidates who have a record of consistently superior performance and a long commitment to the SUNY system.
