Be a Hero For Halloween, Give Blood
Halloween is upon us again . so don't just dress up as a superhero, come give blood and you too can save people's lives. Farmingdale State College and Long Island Blood Services are sponsoring a community blood drive on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 from 10:30AM-7:00 PM on the Farmingdale State campus in Roosevelt Hall's Multi-Purpose Room.
The Farmingdale State College Blood Drive on October 31, 2006 was a record-breaking success and the "best-ever" recruitment effort. The record breaking results yielded 130 donations.
Long Island hospitals require almost 800 pints of blood per day. With a single donation, a person can help up to four people. One in three people will need blood sometime during his/her lifetime.
Donors must be 16-75, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in general good health. At the time of donation, donors must have either photo or signed identification and know their social security number.
To sign up, contact Sandy Lory-Snyder at 631-420-2103. President Keen and his wife, Sally, invite all donors and volunteers to a reception at the President's Residence on Thursday, November 1 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
For further information, contact the Student Activities Office at 631-420-2103 or Community Relations at 631-420-2733.
