High school art students have a unique opportunity to have their portfolios evaluated by Farmingdale State 's art professionals, regardless of where they will be attending college. This free evening event is perfect for high school students who may need advice on how to build a powerful portfolio. PortfolioFest gives students and parents a chance to meet the staff in the Visual Communications program, and have a one-to-one portfolio review. Professors will help to direct students through today's vast art field which offers career opportunities in graphic design, advertising, print production, editorial design, illustration, and web design.
PortfolioFest 2006 will be held from 6:30 - 8:30 pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 in Nathan Hale Hall, room 147. Students will be able to speak with art professors, tour our state-of-the-art facilities, and view portfolios of current Farmingdale State students. They can also meet with an admissions advisor, gain some insight into comparable Baccalaureate-level programs in the metropolitan area, and visit a special exhibit at the Memorial Gallery. Light refreshments will be served.
