George LaRosa Promoted To Senior Vice President At Farmingdale State

Dr. Jonathan C. Gibralter, president of the State University of New York at Farmingdale, is pleased to announce the promotion of Vice President George P. LaRosa to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

George P. LaRosa joined the staff at Farmingdale State in 1977 as College Accountant. In 1978, as a result of his expertise in accounting and auditing, he was promoted to Budget Director, to Director of Business Affairs in 1979, and Assistant Vice President for Business Affairs in 1981. He was appointed Vice President of Administration and Finance in 1984.

In addition to his normal duties as Senior Vice President and CFO, Mr. LaRosa is the Operations Manager for the Research Foundation at Farmingdale State and Treasurer of the Farmingdale College Foundation, Inc.  He holds the academic rank of professor with the Department of Business and Management Technology.

A resident of East Northport, Mr. LaRosa belongs to various professional organizations, including the SUNY Business Officers' Association, National Association of Colleges and University Business Officers, and the Institute of Management Accountants.

In 1998, the Institute of Management Accountants chose George P. LaRosa as Financial Executive of the Year.  He is a graduate of Adelphi University's School of Business, having earned his B.B.A. and M.B.A.
