RE: TAIL COVERS
In order to prevent birds from building a nest in the empennage all Farmingdale State College Piper aircraft will now be supplied with canvas tail covers that will envelop the tail cone and portions of the stabilator.
The tail cover must be kept on the aircraft whenever it is not being used for an activity.
Prior to each flight, the tail cover will be removed during the preflight inspection, folded neatly, and stored in the baggage compartment.
At the conclusion of each flight activity the tail cover must be reinstalled as part of the securing procedure.
Please consult with your Flight Instructor or the Air-Boss regarding the proper installation and removal techniques for the tail covers.
If you have any questions, please ask.
