Washington, DC - Summer Semester

Washington, D.C. is the capital of the United States of America and the seat of its three branches of government, as well as the federal district of the U.S. The city has an unparalleled collection of free, public museums and the lion’s share of the nation’s most treasured monuments and memorials. The vistas on the National Mall between the Capitol, Washington Monument, White House, and Lincoln Memorial are famous throughout the world as icons of the world’s wealthiest and most powerful nation. D.C. has shopping, dining, and nightlife befitting a world-class metropolis. Students will find the city new, exciting, decidedly cosmopolitan and international.

Washington Internship Institute

  • The Washington Internship Institute’s semester-long academic internship program is carefully designed to provide college sophomores, juniors, seniors, recent graduates, and graduate students from the U.S. and abroad with practical, hands-on experience and academically rigorous courses emphasizing public service, leadership, and professional development.
  • A wide variety of internships are available in government offices, nonprofit organizations, and for-profit companies.

Program Requirements

  • GPA Requirement: 2.75 minimum
  • Student must be in good disciplinary standing
  • Program is offered to sophomores, juniors and seniors

Housing

  • Students have the option of WII-provided housing in shared apartments in Arlington, VA which are conveniently located near the metro station
