We are thrilled to be returning to a high level of on-campus instruction this Fall and look forward to the campus' return. Farmingdale State College has been remarkably successful in dealing with the ongoing public health crisis. Your cooperation will allow us to safely move to a much more normal and extensive campus experience.

The College urges everyone to take steps now to receive the COVID vaccine. It is free and will help ensure a safe return for the fall semester. Once you have uploaded your proof of vaccination, you will be exempt from completing the daily covid screening tool and weekly testing.

On Wednesday, March 2, Farmingdale State College terminated its indoor mask mandate and moved to a mask optional policy. Members of the campus community may continue to mask if they choose to do so.

The College will reimpose the indoor mask requirement in the event of any significant resurgence of COVID or changes in state, local, or federal requirements.

All employees with an on-campus presence who are not fully vaccinated are required to be tested weekly for possible COVID infection.

The Health and Wellness Center is offering free testing in the Campus Center Study Lounge:

  • Monday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

If you cannot make it to the on-campus pooled testing, you are required to obtain a test and submit the results via email to Human Resources.

If you had a Positive COVID test within 90 days you will be excused from testing for 90 days from the date you had the positive COVID test performed. You will need to email the positive COVID test result to Human Resources.

Unvaccinated individuals are required to practice social distancing at all times on campus when feasible.

Feeling Ill & COVID Positive

Employees are required to complete the self-reporting form self-reporting form.

Human Resources will contact the employee to determine if contact tracing is required. Only those individuals who have been identified as potentially being exposed will be notified. Due to federal HIPPA laws, the identity of those who are diagnosed with COVID-19 cannot be disclosed and the College is limited in the amount of information it can make public in such situations.

Precautionary Quarantine

Unvaccinated individuals are required to quarantine if exposed to COVID-19.  Should an individual begin to experience symptoms consistent with COVID-19, they should remain home and contact their primary healthcare provider for guidance. Employees should submit this information to Human Resources.

Student COVID Sanctions

Farmingdale State College (FSC) remains committed to ensuring a healthy campus environment for all members of its community. Pursuant to guidance issued by the State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor’s Office, the Office of the Dean of Students intends to address COVID-19 related behaviors that threaten or endanger the health and safety of others. FSC has developed modified disciplinary guidance for all students.

In-Person Meetings

In-person meetings are permitted, however we strongly encourage the continued use of virtual meetings (e.g. Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, etc.) where possible and practical. If in-person meetings are necessary, all physical distancing and face-covering requirements must be followed.
