Ruth Sapir

Ruth Sapir is an Associate Professor in the Computer Systems Department. She received her BS and MS degrees from Brooklyn College and an MS from the Northeastern University School of Engineering. She has taught at the College level for over 25 years and has been the Chair of the Department for the past 7 years.

Prior to going into education, Professor Sapir worked for a number of years as an engineer for a major utility company.

Ruth's passion at this time is the placement of her students into internship opportunities. She has supervised over 200 interns at close to 100 different companies.

Ruth received the Farmingdale Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2008 and the Chancellors' Award for Excellence in Faculty Service in 2010.
