Professor Rory McDonough studied English Literature & Composition with a focus on the young adult novel at Queens College and New York University. He began at Farmingdale State College in 2011 teaching introductory courses in rhetoric and literature. Rory’s academic interests include representations of homosexuality in young adult fiction and popular fiction geared towards women readers. He has a particular affinity for the work of Francesca Lia Block and Plum Sykes.
In addition to his academic work, Rory is a fashion writer and stylist. His work has appeared in magazines such as L’Officiel Homme, Interview, and AVENUE. Last summer he was the fashion editor of Hampton’s based Plum magazine. He is a regular contributor to FashionEtc.com where he covers fine jewelry and luxury accessories.
