Dr. Laurie Rozakis earned her B.A. and M.A. from Hofstra University and her Ph.D. from SUNY Stony Book. She is a full professor of English/Humanities at Farmingdale State College, winner of the prestigious Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Dr. Rozakis has published scores of books and articles, which have been translated into many languages, including Portuguese, Romanian, Arabic, and Chinese. A New York Times profile described Dr. Laurie Rozakis as "an incredible researcher, an amazing writer" and an amazon.com reviewer praised her "uplifting and empowering attitude. Her favorite books include Zombie Lit Notes: The Undead Ate My Brain, and Now I Need This Study Guide to Help Me with My Homework!, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Grammar and Style 2nd edition, and The Portable Jewish Mother (Adams).
