Professor John Meindl

John Meindl is currently a doctoral candidate in Sports Management. He holds a masters degree in Sports Management from Adelphi University and a Bachelor's degree in politics from the Catholic University of America


Professor John Meindl joined the Sport Management Department as a Visiting Professor in the fall of 2013. Professor Meindl, who brings 25 years experience in sport business, is a published writer and speaker in the areas of sports marketing and sports production. Professor Meindl has lectured at many colleges and universities and is a frequent guest speaker at sports and entertainment conferences. Professor Meindl is founder and president of SPORTSBRANDMEDIA, INC., a company at the convergence of sport and entertainment. As a sports marketing consultant, Professor Meindl has worked with countless sports properties and brands from grassroots organizations to formula 1, providing strategic and tactical expertise for those seeking to connect with the sports consumer. Professor Meindl and his company have provided sports solutions to over 30 major motion pictures and television shows.

A former soccer goalkeeper and college head coach, Professor Meindl has been a strong advocate for inner city and underprivileged youth..."Using sport as a vehicle to include the excluded." Professor Meindl serves on the Board of Street Soccer - USA - NYC and has previously served on the Business Advisory Board, LIU-Southampton College, the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Greenpoint, NY, the School for Language & Communication Development and the Nassau County Sports Commission.
