Hope Terris received a BA with a double major in Studio Art and English (with Honors.) SUNY Stony Brook. She has an MA in English Literature, and all the coursework completed for an MFA in Creative Writing, also from Stony Brook Southampton. She has published poetry and fiction in a number of small magazines including: The Journal for Poetry Therapy, Medicinal Purposes, Aitia, The Southampton Review, amongst others, and a work appeared in the poetry anthology Sunlight on the Moon. She co-edited a small anthology for The Live Poets' Society and has been an active member of the poetry community on Long Island, holding offices in various poetry organizations. She has taught workshops on Ehphrastic poetry, a special interest of hers, where she is able to connect her love for the written word with that of visual art. She has taught at Farmingdale State College, SUNY Stony Brook. Suffolk Community College and Touro . She lives in Ronkonkoma with her husband and cat, Wolfie. She has a daughter and four grandchildren.
