From Compliance to Culture: Designing Accessible Learning for Everyone

This session focuses on how we create learning environments where all students can participate from the start. Participants will explore how accessibility moved beyond meeting compliance requirements, but to improve teaching, reduce barriers, and support student success for everyone who engages on campus. Using a simple, memorable framework, we’ll walk through three stages of inclusive content design:

• Review & Remediate: Fix accessibility issues in materials you’re already using
• Update: Build accessibility into content you revise or refresh
• Create Inclusively: Design new materials with human variability in mind from day one
