Dr. Monique Sosnowski, “Developing a Database for Federally Prosecuted Wildlife and Environmental Crime”.
The Federal Wildlife Crime Database is part of the Wildlife Data Collaborative and the first in the U.S. It brings together real federal court cases about wildlife and environmental crimes — everything from trafficking endangered species to illegal fishing. This project is exciting because students from FSC were directly involved in gathering, coding, and analyzing the data. Their work not only helps researchers and policymakers better understand how these crimes are handled but also gives our students hands-on experience contributing to real-world solutions for protecting wildlife.
