The time for fall cleaning is right around the corner! Do you have any unwanted paint cans sitting in your garage or basement? Stop by Farmingdale State College on October 5th and properly recycling that paint! Paint Care is a non-profit that partners with NYS DEC to ensure that paint and paint cans are recycled in an environmentally responsible way.
FSC will be the drop off point where people - community members and FSC students/employees alike - can get their paint recycled properly. The drop off site will be in the parking lot in front of Lupton Hall (student lot 5B and 5C).
*The Office for Sustainability will be collecting paint from faculty, staff, and students from Monday 9/30/24 to Friday 10/4/24. Please drop off any cans to the Service Building or email campus Sustainability Manager Maia Roseval.
This is a free paint recycling drop-off event for households and businesses, but space is limited. Registration is required: please register using the link on the right that says RSVP NOW.
PaintCare sites accept all brands of leftover house paint, stain, and varnish, whether recently used or many years old. Containers must be five gallons or smaller, and some types of paint are not accepted. Households may bring any amount of paint, stain, and varnish. Limits apply to businesses, see below.
See below for a list of what PaintCare accepts for recycling. Make sure all paint containers have lids and original labels, and load them securely in your vehicle. Take them to our FSC drop-off site between 8am-12pm on October 5th, 2024. We’ll take it from there.
PaintCare makes sure that your leftover paint is remixed into recycled paint, used as a fuel, made into other products, or is properly disposed if no other beneficial use for it can be found.
Households may bring any amount of paint, stain, and varnish. The following limits apply to businesses:
