FSC Nexus Center Internship: iCARE BankUnited Paid Internship & Scholarships – SUMMER 2024 (HYBRID & PART-TIME, AL FULL)
BankUnited, a prominent national bank, is partnering with Farmingdale State College to select students for their iCARE 2024 Summer internship (remote/hybrid format) at their Melville location less than ten minutes away from FSC. Two student interns will be selected for two-year full scholarships offered by BankUnited.
AL GRADUATION CREDIT:
*The following AL Internship opportunity is eligible to satisfy the FSC AL Graduation Requirement in full. Students are expected to satisfy project responsibilities, as supervised by the site supervisor in order to earn AL Grad credit. Hours commitment/projects will be worked out between selected students and site supervisor.
APPLIED LEARNING (AL) CATEGORY: Nexus Center Internship AL FULL/HYBRID
Internship Details:
This paid internship will be 24 hours a week for ten weeks from May 21, 2024 – July
25, 2024.
Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and will follow a remote/hybrid work format
anticipated to be 2 days remote and 1 day on-site.
Hourly rate: $20 per hour
Participant eligibility: Students must be in their junior year.
GPA of at least a 2.5.
No experience required. BankUnited seeks motivated talent. Successful internships
may result in full-time employment offers with BankUnited upon graduation/completion
of bachelor’s degree.
Two student interns will be selected for two-year full scholarships offered by BankUnited.
Not all selected interns will receive scholarships, and applicants should be committed
to the summer internship opportunity regardless of scholarship determinations. Scholarship
notifications will be made prior to the start of the internship program.
Student will select an internship track before their interview and will be part of
that selected track for the duration of their internship. No experience is required
for any of the tracks.
Available Tracks:
Core Banking Internship Track: Through this rotational program, interns will gain
a foundational understanding of sales, relationship building, credit/deal financing,
and the Corporate Finance/Treasury operational components of Commercial Banking. Interns
will also strengthen the core skills and knowledge needed to launch a successful career
in Banking.
IT Internship Track: The IT Cloud Architecture/DevOps internship will focus on providing
a real-world view of how Cloud Technology and DevOps automation is being approached
within BankUnited. Understanding that there are multiple disciplines and roles within
an enterprise cloud environment, the premise of the internship will be to provide
candidates with a feel for each major organizational component of the cloud operations
model, in order to enable them to assess for themselves where their potential career
aspirations may lean towards.
Digital Banking Internship Track: The Digital Banking internship will focus on BankUnited’s products and services via digital channels. The interns would play an active role in the development and execution of new and emerging digital products, services, and/or technology platforms, following a user centered design approach. The team's mission is to dramatically increase digital engagement and customer satisfaction through a combination of superior user experience and compelling features and functionality
Equipment is provided to interns for their use during their time at BankUnited.
Participants will be assigned a mentor the duration of the program.
Interns will participate in two lunch and learn sessions with executive leaders at
the bank.
Participants will participate in professional development activities.
International students are eligible to apply. Candidates must be eligible to work
in the U.S.
