On June 24, 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision that affirmed the constitutional right to abortion. Afterwards, nearly 30 states began either outlawing or significantly restricting abortion. Commemorating Constitution Day this year, Dr. Michael J. Motta, Assistant Professor of Political Science, will explain the legal and political maneuverings that led to this decision, as well as the ramifications going forward.
