Welcome to the Department of Automotive Technology, where we prepare students for careers in the management of automotive-related businesses. Students gain practical experience through a hands-on and interactive learning environment.
The department strives to prepare students to develop critical thinking skills to evaluate complex problems and implement creative solutions in this fast and furious industry. This degree program is designed for students who have completed an automotive technology associate degree.
Outside the Classroom
The Department of Automotive Technology encourages students to take advantage of opportunities outside the classroom to expand their learning experiences. Students can join the Farmingdale Automotive Enthusiasts Club to explore new technologies, participate in car shows and seminars, and promote community services. Farmingdale also offers the RAM Motor Sports Club organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), which allows students to compete against other schools in designing and building a single-seat, all terrain vehicle. Students will present their vehicle to a design board composed of automotive engineers and compete in racing events.
