Welcome to the School of Engineering Technology

The School of Engineering Technology prepares students in such academic programs as Architecture/Construction Management, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Aviation, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Management Technology, Facilities Management, and Software Technology. Students use hands-on experience enhanced by instruction in the latest technologies and techniques to acquire real-life experience. Students also have the opportunity to participate in research programs such as the development of alternative energy sources. Our highly-motivated students are prepared for immediate placement in the workforce or post-graduate studies.

Mission of the School of Engineering Technology (SET)

The mission of the School of Engineering Technology at Farmingdale State College is to promote the transmission, expansion, and application of technical knowledge through teaching, research, and community service.
The programs offered by the departments prepare technically-oriented professionals for leadership, management, and service positions in industry, business, education, and government. 

Our primary purpose is to provide technology-related undergraduate and continuing professional education programs to support the career goals of individuals entering and advancing in technical and managerial positions at all levels of business, industry, and education. Programs offered by the SET prepare students to be real-life problem solvers in their fields of study so that, upon graduation, they can contribute to the economic vitality of the region, state, and the nation.
