To Faculty & Staff:

Thanksgiving is fast approaching and, as usual, we would like to take this opportunity to conserve energy and close down the entire campus for the long weekend.

Nearly all campus buildings will be closed and temperatures in these buildings reduced. Therefore, I request that all classified (CSEA, PEF) employees, excluding Physical Plant and University Police staff deemed necessary by their supervisors, take the day after Thanksgiving off and charge it to the appropriate leave time (vacation, personal, or compensatory time). This is asked of Management Confidential employees as well.

Your participation in this effort is strictly voluntary. Those employees that wish to work the day after Thanksgiving must obtain approval from their supervisor to work remotely.

UUP employees will observe Election Day on the day after Thanksgiving.

I hope this extended holiday weekend will give you an opportunity to spend more time with your families and friends and add enjoyment to your holiday. Please accept my thanks and appreciation for your cooperation in our effort to conserve energy. Best wishes for a happy holiday.
