October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Cybersecurity threats remain a high-risk area for institutions of higher education
as attackers scheme to steal valuable data such as credentials, identities, and financial
information. Despite these attacks, there are many ways to stay safe online.
Our annual cybersecurity awareness training program by KnowBe4 is mandated for all
employees by NYS Law and SUNY Policy. It is designed to keep our campus safe from
malicious attacks by cyber criminals and could be helpful to you in your personal
life.
All employees who have access to Farmingdale State College's network and accounts are required to complete this training by November 15, 2022. The program focuses on the latest and most prevalent threats to you as an individual
and to our college.
Early next week, you will receive an email from KnowBe4 (from email address itsecurity@farmingdale.edu) inviting you to begin the training program. The email will include the link to the
training website (farmingdale.edu/knowbe4) and you will be prompted to type in your
FSC email address prior to beginning the training. You may see the SUNY Federation
page and a prompt for your Farmingdale login if you’re not already signed in.
This year’s training consists of 4 modules and should take about an hour to complete.
Please review the additional guidelines that we provide on our Information Technology
Security and Safe Computing site. If you have any questions about this training, please contact the Helpdesk
at x2754 or helpdesk@farmingdale.edu.
Thank you for your attention to this, as we all have a role to play in securing our
campus.
