If you did not file by the deadline you will not be able to participate in the ceremony. Additionally, your name will not appear in the commencement program.

 Due to very limited space, December graduates can not attend Spring Commencement. Only under certain compelling situations, and with permission from the registrar, can you attend the Spring graduation

Yes, you must have a cap and gown to participate. Caps and gowns will be available for purchase. Visit the Barnes and Noble Bookstore. If you are unable to make it into the bookstore, please call them. Make sure to try on your cap and gown after purchasing to make sure it fits and all the parts are included.

The first days of ticket distribution will be at the Senior Commencement Fair in the Campus Center Ballroom on May 2-3, 2018 from 10AM-2PM and 3PM-7PM. If you cannot attend the Fair, tickets will be distributed between 10:00 AM -4:00 PM in Laffin 314 during the week of May 7. All students are entitled to four (4) tickets. If you are unable to pick up your tickets during the designated times, then you must email commencement@farmingdale.edu to arrange alternate pickup. If there are any remaining tickets, these will be made available between May 14-18 from 10 AM- 4PM in Laffin 314.

There might be a LIMITED number of extra tickets. The Dean of Students will alert the student body via email regarding their availability. If any tickets remain, they will be available in Laffin 314 beginning Monday, May 14 (10AM-4PM). Again, due to the finite number of seats in Nold Hall, we cannot honor large requests for tickets. The ceremony will be streamed live on the internet. The link will be available on the commencement web pages a day or two prior to the ceremony. Also the video stream will be available for several days after the event.

Please send an email to commencement@farmingdale.edu stating your name,  Have your guests arrive when the doors open for the graduation ceremony. To insure enough seating, the area for special needs is limited to the specific individual needing special seating. The individual does not need to sit alone.  Up to a maximum of two others, not needing special seating, may sit with that individual.

Yes, This is mandatory and that is where we will be making sure you have your card filled out correctly so that your name is called and you are recognized. Additionally, instructions will be given in terms of how to line up, march, and be recognized on the platform by the President of the College.

Yes, your picture will be taken by a professional photographer and will be available for purchase in late May or early June.

Commencement usually lasts about two hours, depending upon the number of students who attend. Every student is recognized. Please join us after the ceremony for a reception on the Great Lawn between Nold and Roosevelt Halls.

Commencement will be taking place in the Nold Athletic Complex. If there is some unforeseen emergency, please visit the College website home page for emergency information.
