Candidate's Checklist

The following is a checklist you can download to ensure that you have done everything needed before the Spring Commencement ceremonies to be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 and Tuesday, May 22, 2018. If you have any questions about the ceremony, you can email commencement@farmingdale.edu. Please let your guests know that no backpacks, coolers or umbrellas will be allowed into the graduation area.  Additionally, all individuals may be subject to search prior to admittance.
Candidate's Checklist Form

Check the spelling of your name for the commencement program after you have filed your Intent to Graduate form. You can check the spelling of your name by going to OASIS a few days after filing the form.

Questions about graduation after reading through the commencement website? Send email to commencement@farmingdale.edu.

Visit the Barnes and Noble Bookstore to purchase a cap and gown.
NOTE: The bookstore will be open during normal business hours during the week of May 14-18. If you are unable to make it into the bookstore, please call them at 631-249-3048. The bookstore will be open prior to the morning ceremony and prior to the afternoon ceremony, but will certainly be crowded. (Students must wear caps and gowns to participate in the graduation ceremony.)
The bookstore will use its facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/FSCbooks to announce the arrival of the caps and gowns.

The first days for commencement ticket distribution will be at the Senior Commencement Fair on May 2-3, 2018. This will take place in the Campus Center Ballroom from 10am-2pm, and 3pm-7pm on both days. If you cannot attend these days to pick up your four tickets, you may email commencement@farmingdale.edu starting May 8 for updated information. All eligible graduates will be able to pick up 4 guest tickets at this time. Dependent on the number of participating graduates, a limited number of extra tickets MAY be available during the week of May 14. All tickets are free.

Unable to obtain tickets on the above dates?  If so, during the week of May 7-11 you can obtain four (4) tickets during the hours of 10AM-4PM in Laffin 314. If you are unable to obtain tickets during these time periods, please email commencement@farmingdale.edu and arrangements will be made for alternate pickup. Please note that Nold Hall has a finite number of seats and as such we cannot honor large requests for tickets. Be advised there will be a live stream of the ceremony on the day of graduation. The link will be made available just prior to the ceremony on the Farmingdale homepage.

Please be aware that the graduation will be taking place inside the gymnasium in Nold Hall. You will be walking up the platform stairs to shake the President's hand and receive your diploma cover. You should dress accordingly. High heels are not recommended. To maintain the dignity of the ceremony, we ask all students to dress appropriately.

It is very important that when you pick up your cap and gown, you open the package and check to see that you have everything that you are supposed to have: cap, gown, black tassel (Latin Honors students will receive a gold tassel during check-in at graduation), hood (Bachelor degree) or bib (Associate degree). Also, you should try on the cap and gown to make sure it fits. This will help avoid problems on the day of commencement.

You MUST attend the pre-ceremony lineup and instructions.
