Jack Petrich '69


Jack Petrich

Jack Petrich graduated from Farmingdale State College with an AAS degree in Building Construction in 1969. He continued his education at Texas A&M University and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.

After earning his degree, Jack returned to Long Island and discovered a job posting in Farmingdale’s Lupton Hall to work in the campus planning office for Dr. Charles W. Laffin, Farmingdale’s fifth president. Jack began his career at Farmingdale in July 1973. His first project was the completion of Nold Hall and later Greenley Hall.  After that he worked on the design and construction of the Rams Den Tavern in Roosevelt Hall.

Other noteworthy projects Jack has been involved with are the design and construction of the athletic facilities, the new School of Business, various site and parking projects, the Campus Center and the recently renovated Conklin Hall Student Center.

Jack lives in Center Moriches with wife, Diana, and two dachshunds, Leo and Hansel. He enjoys boating and fishing.
