Advisement FAQ

Any Business Management and Global Business Management major with greater than 30 college credits.  Freshmen (0-30 credits) are advised through AAIC. www.farmingdale.edu/aaic/ 631-794-6160. 

We highly recommend that you schedule an advising appointment every semester (in October for Spring registration and in April for fall registration). 

You can request a phone advisement appointment or request an updated check sheet with course suggestions to be emailed to you.  

If you cannot attend your appointment, please be sure to call the office to reschedule as soon as possible. 

You will be required to:

  • Have established a minimum of a 2.7 GPA at FSC
  • Fill out a change of curriculum form
  • Meet with the Chair of the Business Management Department for approval
  • Meet with a Business Management academic advisor for mandatory advising 

Yes, students may participate in up to two internships for college credit (higher business electives) and must be approved by the Internship Coordinator mid-semester before. An internship is a great opportunity to build your resume and test-drive your future career goals, while earning college credit. For more information visit the Business Management Internship Program

Yes, students may study abroad through Farmingdale or SUNY, and should meet with a study abroad advisor to see how this will fit into your degree.
