The Raynor Wallace Student Poetry Award Guidelines

The Raynor Wallace Award for Poetry is given annually to outstanding Farmingdale student-poets. This award is sponsored by the Academy of American Poets, which contributes $100 towards first prize. The Raynor Wallace Award is named in honor of Raynor Wallace, emeritus chair of the English/Humanities Department.

Raynor Wallace Award Guidelines:

Entrants must be current Farmingdale students.

Interested students should submit 1-5 poems to Dr. Margery Brown by emailing them as Word or RTF attachments no later than April 12, 2018. Email brownml@farmingdale.edu

Poems must be typed, one to a page, with no identification on individual poems. The author's name, RAM ID number, phone number, and list of titles should be typed on a cover page included with the entry.

Individual poems may not be longer than 50 lines.

Poems will not be returned, so entrants should be careful to keep copies.

Note: All entries will be reviewed by a panel composed of two current members of the Farmingdale student body and three members of the English/Humanities faculty.

The winning poems will be published here.
