Since 2000, Farmingdale State College has continued to evolve and expand the recycling program aimed to manage the resources, products, and facilities associated with the University.  Committing to these efforts, we can make our campus community cleaner and a more earth friendly campus.

At Farmingdale State College, we encourage our community of faculty, staff, students, and visitors to recycle responsibly.  The 4 R's is a beneficial tool to educate and engage in the process of lowering our carbon footprint.

R-educe - Use less!  Reduce the output of the general waste stream, and the need for landfill space.

R-euse - Find a new use or give it to someone else.  Take advantage of the economic benefit arising from recycling.

R-ecycle - Consciously recycle whenever possible.

R-ethink - Consider the impact of waste on our environment.  Incorporate sustainable principles to aspire to work towards ZERO waste.
