Advanced Standing Bachelor of Science Nursing Track

(Spring Semester Only)

Application and supporting documents due October 1


All applicants to the nursing program must meet the safety and technical
standards and have completed the following courses:

High School Level:

  • Biology with Laboratory (Regents score 75% and above if
  • NY State resident)
  • Chemistry with Laboratory (passing Regents score)
  • Two units of mathematics (including Algebra)

College Level:

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • MTH 110 - Statistics
  • BIO 170, Human Anatomy & Physiology I - within 5 years
  • BIO 171, Human Anatomy & Physiology II - within 5 years
  • EGL 101, English Composition: Rhetoric
  • PSY 101, Introduction to Psychology
  • 3 Liberal Arts and Sciences curriculum requirements - refer to program of study.


Pre-Admissions Exam:

Interview:
Applicants with the most competitive exam scores will be selected for
an interview, the final round of the selection process. Interviews will be
conducted on campus by nursing faculty members shortly after the
exam scores are received.


Applicants must achieve a grade of B or better the first time they
take BIO 170 and BIO 171 Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II.
Applicants who have repeated Anatomy and Physiology will not be
considered for admission. This is not an accelerated nursing program
and will take a minimum of three years to complete.


Please note that completion of the minimum prerequisite courses does
not guarantee admission. Applicants are ranked according to grades and exam score.
