Erica Chase-Gregory,Regional Director
Erica Chase-Gregory joined the Farmingdale SBDC in 2011. Erica owned and operated her own consulting business prior to joining the Small Business Development Center. Her previous experience working with Federal, State and Local government agencies has become a valuable asset to her clients who wish to pursue government contracts. She specializes in assisting clients with the federal, state and/or local certification processes.
Mrs. Chase-Gregory was appointed the Regional Director of Farmingdale SBDC on September 10, 2015. She sits as an advisory board member to the Suffolk County Coalition Against Domestic Violence - Women's Resource Center and the Child Care Council of Suffolk, Inc.
Erica conducts business workshops for various community organizations as well as being involved with many long island business networking groups.
David Chiaro, Veteran Business Advisor
David joined the Farmingdale SBDC in 2014. His 27+ years working in the public and military sector make him a unique link to the military community as the Veteran Business Advisor.
His military career started in the Army as enlisted and ended with his Honorable Discharge retirement from the Navy at the rank of Commander, USNR (05), Veteran OEF/OIF/OND. His prior experience(s) with assorted military disciplines and certifications as an Intelligence Offer (MOS/NOBC: 35L, 35M, 163X, 9617) make him exceptionally qualified to assist many Veterans located in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
David holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and Criminology from St Johns University as well as other degrees and certifications from the US Military as a NYS and Federal Instructor.
Lloyd Clarke, Business Advisor
Lloyd has 21 years of experience as an SBDC business advisor specializing in business and marketing plans. He has conducted many business seminars using motivational techniques that encourage entrepreneurs.
His prior experience as plant manager, director of distribution, and terminal manager for Continental Trailways brings a wealth of practical knowledge to his counseling skills.
Lloyd has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Baruch College and several post graduate Certificates in Communications and Multimedia from N.Y.U.
Gloria Glowacki, Advanced Certified Business Advisor
Gloria has an expansive background of over thirty years in new business development, small business advocacy, and sales and marketing initiatives. Prior to joining the Farmingdale University SBDC, Gloria started her career as a business counselor at the Stony Brook University Small Business Development Center, rising to Director of Operations and ultimately Associate Director. Gloria joined the Farmingdale University SBDC in 2016 as an outreach advisor at the Smithtown Public Library bring with her a fresh and welcomed passion and enthusiasm to entrepreneurs seeking assistance with their start up or existing businesses. Gloria holds an advanced certification status with the SBDC.
In recognition of her valuable contribution to the business community, Gloria has been awarded the Woman of Distinction award from the March of Dimes and has also been recognized by the Community Development Corporation and the Suffolk County Women's Business Enterprise Coalition. In 2009, Gloria was named Small Business Advocate of the Year by Long Island Development Corporation, and has twice been named one of the 50 Most Influential Women on Long Island by the Long Island Business News.
Ms. Glowacki's formal education boasts of a summa cum laude graduate of Stony Brook University with a Bachelor of Arts in Multi-disciplinary Studies, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Jason Kohl, MBA, CCIM, Certified Business Advisor
Specialties: SBA Underwriting, Small Business Financing, Commercial Real Estate, Continuity Planning, Cash Flow Management.
Jason joined the Farmingdale SBDC team in 2013. Jason has been serving the business community since 1990 in his role as a commercial bank lender and independent business owner. He is formally credit trained and he has earned his CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation giving him a notable level of expertise in commercial real estate and financing.
Jason worked with small business owners impacted by Superstorm Sandy and took part in deploying over $45Million in grants for recovery. His diverse background in bank lending and commercial real estate puts him in a position to identify unique solutions for clients. Jason conducts workshops for entrepreneurs at various community sites which helps promote business success and SBDC reputation. In 2017 Jason was recognized as the NYS SBDC "State Star", selected from all statewide SBDC business advisors.
Jason earned his MBA from St. Jonn's University and his undergraduate from Manhattan College. #EntrepreneursVisionGuide
Christina Loggia, Business Advisor
Christina joined the Farmingdale SBDC in 2013. She came to the SBDC as an advisor helping Hurricane Sandy victims with the NY Rising grant applications and succeeded in obtaining over 4 million dollars in grant money for her small business clients. With over 30 years of experience in business, specifically in the areas of Retail, Purchasing, Human Resources, Marketing and Education, she has a myriad of experience to bring to the small business community. In 2016 Christina was awarded with the NY SBDC State Star Award.
Christina holds a M.S. degree from Dowling college in Secondary Education and was NYS certified to teach High School Business. She holds B.S. and A.A.S degrees from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Marketing/Communications and Fashion Buying & Merchandising. She is also a Registered Yoga Teacher and teaches yoga at a local gym and library on Long Island.
Doreen Motton, Business Advisor
Doreen has spent nearly four decades as a sales & marketing professional, entrepreneur and corporate executive for Fortune 500 companies. She is the founder and Officer for two start-up corporations; one as manufacturer of an eco-friendly beauty/bedding accessory for the anti-aging and haircare consumer and other as the Chief Marketing Strategist of her own marketing company. As a marketing professional, Doreen has aided dozens of companies in developing and executing creative strategies to engage customers, integrate social media initiatives and communicate more effectively through robust website content. Doreen is also an accredited Authorized Local Expert for Constant Contact, the leading email marketing software company and has taught several classes on email marketing, social media and marketing best practices.
Doreen's continued mission is to help and empower small business owners to harness their passion, continue to learn and to always grow in their respective business.
Ms. Motton holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University in Boston and has received awards and recognition for her work as a business woman and marketing professional.
Walter Reid, Advanced Certified Business Advisor

Walter has been a Business Advisor with SBDC since 1998. He originally worked at the Staten Island office and has been at the Farmingdale SBDC since January 2002. Walter was twice the recipient of the New York State Star Performer Award in 2007 and 2010. This is the highest award given by National Association of Small Business Development Centers to Advisors throughout the country He also won the NY State SBDC Counselor of the Year Award in 2006 and 2014. In 2000 he was recognized by the Staten Island Advance and the Staten Island Chamber for his role in a project that resulted in amending a federal regulation. This accomplishment was credited with impacting the continued operation of 32 small businesses and saving 190 jobs along the northeast corridor from Maine to Maryland. For this effort he received the NAMTAC Award for the "Outstanding Project of the Year" in 2000.
Mr. Reid has advised over 2,000 businesses since his tenure with the SBDC which resulted in the formation of 780 new small businesses creating 2,400 jobs and investing over $110,000,000 into the local economy. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Suffolk County Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club, The Long Island Business Exchange, The Business Resource Group, the Nassau County Inventor and Entrepreneur Club and The Safe Water Source, a charitable organization.
He obtained advanced certified advisor status with the SBDC in May of 2011. Before joining the SBDC, he worked for many years in the toy industry as a retail store buyer. He has also been a principal partner in two businesses: New York Business Brokers Inc., and R and M Toy Sales.
He received a B.B.A. from Hofstra University in 1972.
