Farmingdale State College Process for Student Concerns, Complaints and Suggestions

In support of student learning and a safe, collegial environment for all students, Farmingdale State College has specific procedures for students to register concerns, complaints or suggestions.

Students have several mechanisms through which they may express complaints, concerns and suggestions including but not limited to procedures for complaints regarding sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, unlawful discrimination, bias crimes, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) violations and grade grievances. Detailed information regarding complaints in each of these categories is contained in the College Catalog and Student Handbook. Student concerns, complaints or suggestions that do not fall under the procedures provided in the specific categories above are recorded directly through an electronic Student Concerns and Suggestion Box that can be accessed through the College webpage search function "A - Z Links", the Dean of Students’ webpage and the link above. Students completing and submitting the electronic Student Concerns and Suggestions form are contacted by the Office of the Chief Diversity Officer within five business days regarding the status of the issue and expected timeline for resolution.
