Farmingdale State Gallery Presents Designer from Broadway, Rolling Stone

“Gail Anderson: Designer, Writer, Educator, Hoarder”

February 12, 2014

The Memorial Gallery at Farmingdale State College is presenting an exhibition by Gail Anderson.  Anderson is a New York-based designer, writer, educator and partner at Anderson Newton Design.  She is known for her quirky letterforms made out of traditional and untraditional materials, from hot metal and wooden type to twigs and bottle caps. From her typographic wellspring has come an ever-expanding vocabulary of signs and symbols, methods and mannerisms that, in turn, have influenced a generation of designers.
