Farmingdale State College students were recently honored for their achievement of academic excellence.  They gathered with friends and family to participate in the Student Awards for Academic Excellence (SAAE) ceremony. Each year, two graduating students are selected to represent their department on the basis of their overall grade point average, with additional consideration given to performance in areas including research, internships, special student projects and service to the college.  Sixty-three students were selected out of the more than 1,500 students eligible to graduate.

Dr. Lucia Cepriano, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at the College, commended the students for their exceptional academic achievements.  “I continue to be impressed with the academic excellence displayed by our students.” said Provost Cepriano. “Their scholastic achievements become even more impressive when you consider their participation in student clubs and honor societies.”
